Hot Schema changes are a powerful capability which we use to minimize downtime during system-wide upgrades and shorten our application/schema development cycle.
Fractal tree indexing looks like the future. #tokudb #mysql
For any IO bound workload it will make your day.
The TokuDB engine is truly impressive and I cannot contain my anticipation on what might be the next great breakthrough for my application.

I’ve been experimenting with TokuDB recently, and I’m fairly impressed with what I see. It’s nippy even with some ‘ugly’ queries.
Now that I’ve used it on production systems, I can say that HCAD in TokuDB 5.0 is freakin’ awesome. Who needs maintenance windows anyway?
The company has developed an index engine for MySQL based on Fractal Tree technology that allows MySQL performance to scale from gigabytes to terabytes.
The growth of data, especially in real-time Web 2.0 environments, can be a burden or an opportunity for new products and new revenue. MySQL users should consider TokuDB to increase agility, speed and scalability.
